We are committed to making a difference in the lives of small-scale farmers and their families in rural India by empowering them through sustainable livelihoods. We are a not-for-profit that sells 100% organic hand-spun cotton prducts.
About
Hundreds of thousands of farmers in India have been driven to suicide due to shame of not being able to provide for their families. This is due to the high cost of genetically modified cotton seeds, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides. Khadi Organics is committed to helping educate rural farmers about the need for organic methods in order to create sustainable livelihoods and a self-empowered way of life.
Project
One of the projects that has taken place in the process of converting back to organic methods has included constructing a shed for vermicomposting for the farmers in Naya Wathoda. This method was introduced in order to replace the high cost chermical fertilizers.
